OOTD: The Summer Peacock

Summer comes in a luke-warm flavor here in the Northwest.

Here in Seattle, the minute the sun peaks its head over the clouds, and it warms up to 60F degrees, outcome shorts, flip flops and t-shirts. I look around and see the stereotypical "Seattle" summer style, which includes rolled up cargo shorts, flip-flops and a loose, button-up cotton blouse. I thought I'd try and step up the typical "Seattle-summer" fashion game, with my new top, which I've lovingly named the Summer Peacock top. The best thing about this top? It will double as my go-to shirt during my trip to Tuscany in June.

Another note: My new favorite accessory is Lip Stain! The most amazing thing - a subtle pop of color that stays on all day with little maintenance. The shade I'm wearing here is Revlon's "Just Bitten" Lip Stain in "Flame."

What is your go-to summer top? The perfect airy, flowy, bright-colored top - we all have one. Post your summer go-to in the comments!

The Details: Fuzzy Floral, Riding Boots & Pink Headband

Finally...it is Friday! And for me it is actually "Floral Friday," a trend I'm starting at the office with a coworker (which is in addition to our newly instated "Heel Wednesday").

Story 1: This fuzzy sweater, one of my favorite tops hanging in my closet, is from H&M. I found this sweater a few months ago, but it was priced at $50! It was too outrageous of a price for a top from H&M, so I passed on it (I actually posted about the sweater here). Then a month later I was browsing the sales at H&M and there it was...my meant-to-be sweater for $15! Clearly I snagged it. And that is the story of my fuzzy floral sweater.

(Short) Story 2: The headband is from the swap meet I wrote about a couple weeks ago...and definitely recommend getting together with your friends and hosting a swap party, because what is better than free & fabulous clothing/accessories?

Story 3: The boots are Steve Madden (check 'em out here). And let me just say...I love these boots! They go with everything, they are super comfortable and look good with everything from leggings to skirts to skinny jeans! A great purchase...and they have them available in tons of colors. I'm probably preaching to the choir here, everyone has these boots!

Note: I'm 5'9" with long legs, so the boots are not as tall on me as they would be on most :)
Note: Again, tall girl here, that sweater would be much longer on most!

The Stylist: Sweater for Almost AnyBODY

I have found the perfect sweater for *almost* anyBODY. This floral sweater from H&M looks even more amazing in person - it is soft, flowy and long. Here are my suggestions on how to wear the sweater based on your body:

Curvy & Short: Roll the sleeves up. Pair with a long, skinny gold necklace. Big black bangle. Black leggings. Chunky black suede heels.
Curvy & Tall: Fold the sleeves over once. Chunky gold/brass necklace. Black leggings. Cocktail ring. Brown riding boots.

Thin & Short: Leave sleeves long. Black tights. Long pearl necklace. Black heeled booties.
Thin & Tall: Roll the sleeves up. Black tights. Chunky gold/brass necklace. Skinny red bracelet. Chunky red heels.

Would you wear it differently? Let me know in the comments below!
