The Details: Rihanna Prints, Blue Nails & Monday Coffee

Morning! It is Monday...again. The weekend always seems to fly by.

I have been seeing blue nail polish everywhere lately...and I had to get in on it. I purchased some gorgeous blue Butter polish from Nordstrom. My shirt is from Forever21 (plus) and I call it my "Rihanna shirt" because it reminds me of her style in the Rude Boy video (come here rude boy boy).

Let me know what you think as always!

Top from Forever21, Boots by Steve Madden, Necklace from Urban Outfitters.

From the Author: Hottest Trends at Golden Globes 2011

I'm sure all you fashion loving readers tuned in to the Golden Globes last night, or at least checked out who was wearing what. There are all kinds of best dressed lists out there...but I've got my own point of view.

For the most part, I agree with the best dressed lists. However, I thought Natalie Portman's Rose-embellished gown was AMAZING, and the only thing I disagreed with was her necklace...it was just too much.

Out of all the gorgeous gowns on the red carpet, there were two trends that kept popping up which I fell in love with. Pale peachy pinks & dark rich greens. Delicious.

Who was on your best dressed list? What do you think about my picks? Tell me everything.

Trends: Studded Booties

There is a studded-heaven...and your foot can find it by slipping into these gorgeous Rosegold boots. These are on sale at BlueFly.com for $177 (about 40% off) but there is one size life and I can't find them ANYWHERE. The fact that I would shell out almost $200 for a pair of booties means that these are absolutely amazing. If I can't find them around, I might think about doing a DIY project & making my own  version!

Bonus points to anyone who can find me these boots online in a size 10 :)

Trends: Chevron Beaded Necklace

This necklace is popping everywhere right now, being paired with loose fitting tanks and skinny jeans. Since this piece has been available for a while now, copy cat versions are trickling down to stores like Nordstrom and Macy's; in fact I found a gorgeous white & silver chevron beaded necklace on Black Friday at Nordstrom Rack for under $20 (originally $85 & on clearance).

EveryBODY: Winter Coats

It is that time again...the weather is getting cold and we all have to find a winter jacket that flatters both our body type & taste! Tall and curvy? Try a long, flattering & stylish cape. Short & thin? Rock some faux fur. No matter what your body type is, there is something fabulous for you to cozy up in! Pair with hot cocoa & snow for a perfect winter night.

1. ASOS Curve Hooded Military Cape ($129.30)
2. Tiered Bottom Wool Trench Coat by Express ($198)
3. Felt Double Breasted Coat by Faith21 ($37.80)
4. Graham & Spencer Leather Jacket by Free People ($856)
5. ASOS Curve Faux Shearling Biker ($112.06)
6. Jolt "Cozy" Jacket ($62)

Trend: "Jasmine" Pant

Maybe we love these pants so much this season because as little girls we all wanted to be Jasmine from Aladdin...but whatever the reason they are fabulous. Pair them with a form fitting top & cropped jacket, and chunky heels for a NYC worthy look. I found this pair online at ASOS for under $40! They come in black & grey, sizes 16-22.

Trends: Boyfriend Boots

It's that time in fashion again, to steal your boyfriend's grungy style. This season? Steal his boots. The grungier the better...just don't pair with flannel (it's not 1991 anymore). They look great with floral dresses or skinnies. Add a feminine element to your outfit, otherwise you may start to look just a tad bit goth (and let's be honest, that's just not chic). Here are some of my favorites for these season:

1. Jeffrey Cambell "Somebody" Lace Up Boot ($119.95)
2. Steve Madden "Perrin" Tall Lace-Up Military Boot ($199)
3. Coach Adelaide Boot ($223.50 on sale)
4. Born Shoes, Skylark Boots ($131.25 on sale)

Trends: Drapey Jacket

Lately fashion has been moving towards an easier, more laid-back look. Taking the time to look like you just threw on the perfect outfit is what it's all about (I know its a bit ironic)! And this jacket is perfect for that. It is easy, yet tailored. Casual yet dress. Fabulous yet understated...I think you get it.

Stylist Note: I would not recommend wearing it as shown in the picture. Pair this with a solid color top and skinny jeans.

How would you wear this jacket? Share your response in the comments below!

Trends: Scrunch Socks & Heels

If you have been looking in fashion mags, watching runways or hitting the streets of NYC or Milan, you've surely noticed a trend: scrunched crew socks & chunky heels. I am absolutely in LOVE with this style...but realize it can be hard to find the right pair of heels with the right pair of socks to make-it-work. So here are some suggestions on how to get your sock on!

Spurlge
1. Bejart Wedge by Robert Clergerie ($795 at Nordstroms)
2. Button Bootie by Francesco Morichetti ($129 at Nordstroms)

Steal
3. Voila Cut Out Heels ($26.80 at Forever21)
4. Lace Up Booties ($32.80 at Forever21)

Trends: Sequin Blazer

When I saw this on the Nordstrom website, I thought I must have died and gone to heaven. A sequin blazer, cut beautifully, that comes in plus-sizes? I'll take one in every color please! Unfortunately, it just comes in super-chic black.

(Sequin Jacket by Sejour, Nordstroms)

Trends: Lace

Not sure if you've noticed, but lace is everywhere right about now. Finding a way to wear the right lace top that is chic & flattering can be an issue, especially if you don't want to squeeze into a tiny lace-lined LBD or top. Pair a light colored & flowy lace top with a long cardigan, long leggings & riding boots!

You can also try wearing a more fitted lace top with a boyfriend blazer, skinny jeans & heels. I really love the pale rose colored lace with a black jacket combo.

Treasure Chest: Week of 11/8

1. Go Beyonce for a night with this fab find! (Giant gold chain linked necklace; H&M)
2. This top would look amazing paired with skinnies, or tucked into a high waisted skirt. (Beaded top, Faith21 by Forever21)
3. This scrub will literally make your entire body as smooth as a baby's you-know-what. (Lemon sugar scrub, The Body Shop)
4. These suede booties come in 3 colors and are a staple for this season's wardrobe. (Suede Booties, by Steve Madden at DSW)
5. You know that "I just did something naughty" glow you wish you could always have? Get it. (Liquid blush, Trish McEvoy at Nordstrom)
6. It's Holiday season! That means times for sparkles! (Gold Sparkle Top Coat, Sephora by OPI)

Spotlight Love: Kristi S.

Talk about fabulous! This fashionista is a dear friend of mine, her name is Kristi and she is just so damn gorgeous. I don't recall ever seeing her looking anything short of fly...this girl has her style down.

Oldie but Goodie: Anna Sui Dress

This was taken a few months ago (before I chopped off a lot of my hair!). I got this dress at Target during one of their designer sales, it is a silk wrap dress by Anna Sui. It has proven to be timeless so far, and I love where it hits on the waist. Paired it with a bright blue clutch I got in Europe, black tights & chunky heels. What do you think? Is this dress still "in" or should we be saying Auf Wiedersehen?

Trends: Riding Boots

Looking for the perfect riding boot? Look no more. I have found it, the Steve Madden gods have blessed me with these Inca boots. Bonus? They fit wider calves & have an adjustable buckle in the back. Double bonus? The mini wedge that adds a little flair to this wardrobe staple.

(Boots by Steve Madden)

Classics: Oxford Heels

It is that time of year again ladies! Time to pull out (or go and buy) your adorable, lace-up oxford heels. Not sure how to wear them? Here are some ideas on wearing the oxford heels:

- Pair with scrunched up socks over tights or leggings for a European look
- Pair with textured, pattered or colored tights & a simple dress
- Pair with skinny jeans, and to add an edge, roll up the cuff.

(These oxford heels are from Nine West)

The Details: Sleeve Details

So H&M is one of the stores where sometimes you can find shirts & skirts that fit like a dream, and other times it's like trying to fit a bowling ball into a pinhole (thanks for that metaphor, Snookie). But this shirt, which comes in black & tan, is a dream. Its long (goes to the middle of my thighs, I'm 5'9") and flowy. Pair it with black leggings and chunky colorful heals. Perfection!

The Details: Touch of Sparkle Headband

Oh this headband is just dazzling. Don't feel like doing your hair today? Pull it back into a bun & throw this baby on. You'll be sparklin' all over town. You will start to see headbands like these popping up everywhere, just in time for those Holiday parties!

(Headband from Forever21)
